Spooky’s Wood
Spooky’s Wood was named after a cat who was buried in the new woodland.
The entrance to the wild wood camping area and children’s play area, is through the pedestrian gate just opposite the gate entrance to island field.
Take the left hand fork in the path, it will lead you to a children’s activity area including a mud kitchen amongst other activities.
Take the right hand fork walking along the wiggly, wooded path, down the steps and through the other side of the hedge and here you will find four private wild wood pitches they each have brick surround fire pits with sufficient room to pitch a tent.
The toilet, washing up and shower facilities are shared with Island Field being so closely located.
Please note:

Childrens Imagination Play Trail
Found in Spookys Wood, the children’s imagination play trail allows kids to explore and pretend all in the shade of the tress. Enter the woodland through the gate almost opposite Island Field (where the toilet and shower block are located) Take the left hand fork in the path, and follow the windy path and it will lead you to a children’s activity area. Find the mud kitchen and let the children cook up a ‘delight’ for you to sample, a wobbly bridge – can they get across without stumbling? A fairy ring, can they make a wish in the centre? A totem pole clearing, how high can they reach.
There is a seat inside the play trail where you can sit and rest while the children play close by.
